KN Hot and Chilled Water

A zoned heating and cooling system that uses hot or chilled water. The water is generated from a central location and piped to various sections of a building. Each section of the building has fin coils or convectors with fans. These are used to produce warm or cooled air which is then circulated throughout that portion of the building. This system is normally found in Class A and B high-rise buildings where fire barriers must be penetrated from floor to floor.

This system is fueled by gas. For an oil-fired system, use component KNO (Hot and Chilled Water, Oil Fired).

Quality Selection

Consider year round ambient temperature, the number of temperature zones and the overall quality of the equipment when selecting a quality.
