The following changes and enhancements were made to Commercial Estimator in April 2003:
Cost Adjustments: A new data entry screen, Cost Adjustments, has been added to the detailed data entry screens. This screen contains optional items that allow you to change the local multiplier, architect's fee multiplier and report date (and enter some reconciliation values to print on the reports for reference purposes). See the discussion of the Cost Adjustments screen for details.
Saving: The Random Navigation Menu on the left now has two new options, Save and Save As. Commercial Estimator temporarily saves any data you have entered on a screen when you move to a different screen using the Random Navigation Menu or Sequential Navigation Buttons Use these options to permanently save your data as follows:
Save: Save any changes you have made in an estimate, updating any previously saved data.
Save As: Save the estimate data as a new estimate, assigning a new estimate ID.
Because of this addition, the "Saved Until" field has been removed from the General Information Screen.
Also, be sure to use the Random Navigation Menu or Sequential Navigation Buttons to move from screen to screen. Do not use the browser's Back and Next buttons, which do not temporarily save the data as you move from screen to screen.
Adding Items on Selected Screens: The method of adding an item on the Occupancies, Components, Additions and Remarks/Notes screens has been improved. On each of these screens, enter the item in the Detail section at the top of the screen, then click the Add button. This adds the item to the item list below the Detail section.
In addition, to change an item, click the item in the list below the Detail section. Commercial Estimator displays the data for the item in the Detail section. Make any desired changes, then click the Update button.
See the help for the following screens for complete details on how to use these improved screens.
Timeout: If you have been inactive too long, a message now displays indicating that you will automatically be logged out. Click the OK button to remain logged in.
